Monstrance ciborium

This monstrance ciborium, which has apparently lost an architectural upper part, cannot be dated with certainty. Set on the octagonal foot is a rock crystal cabochon.  The knop shows similarity with other pieces of the treasure. It is thought that the work was made in a workshop in the county of Namur.

A ciborium contains the communion bread consecrated by the priest during the Eucharist.
