The silver bookbinding plates of the evangeliary show Christ in Majesty and the Crucifixion. The niello, stamping and filigree are of very high quality. In the interlacing is a hunting scene and, to the left of Christ in Majesty, a representation of Hugo d’Oignies in person as well as the letters of his first name. We can also see a head of Gorgone in chalcedony, set above the Crucifixion.
