Maniple embroidered in gold

This maniple is thought to have belonged to Jacques de Vitry, even if its origin cannot be defined with certainty. Embroidered completely in gold thread on red silk, it was worn over the arm. Eight characters are represented on the maniple, identified by an embroidered inscription, including Thomas Becket. This suggests a work of English origin.
