Mother and Child

This statuette was only included as part of the treasure very late, probably during the 19th century. It would previously have belonged to the Cistercian community of the Abbey of Aulne, which was suppressed during the French Revolution. Specialists are unable to decide whether its origin is Paris or a nearby town in northern France.
